Masala Idli

Ever heard of Masala Idli? It is an interesting dish of Idli which is not only colourful and yummy and tangy but also quick to make.Below are the 

INGREDIENTS:

Semolina ,Yogurt,Salt ,Water ,Oil,Mustard seeds ,White lentils ,Green chili ,Fruit salt ,red chilli powder,Curry leaves,onions,Lemon juice ,Coriander leaves.

PREPARATION:

  •  In a bowl, add semolina, yogurt, salt and whisk it.Add water and whisk it. Rest for 10 minutes.
  • Heat  oil in a pan, add  mustard seeds,  white lentils, green chili  and cook for a minute.
  •  Pour the tempering over the whisked yogurt and mix it well.Add fruit salt and water and whisk it properly. Transfer this into an idli moulder.Steam It  for  10 minutes.
  • After it is  cooled,cut the idli in 4 equal parts.Transfer this into a bowl, add salt and red chili powder and mix it well.Heat oil in a pan, add mixed idli and cook for 2 – 3 minutes. Remove it from heat.
  • Heat oil in a pan, mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chili, onions, salt and cook for 1 – 2 minutes.
  • Add prepared idli and  again cook for 1 – 2 minutes.Add  lemon juice, garnish  coriander leaves  and it is ready to be served.
