PRAGUE in 3 Days

With an eclectic mix of the modern, charming and historical, Prague is a destination that offers something for every traveller. I and my husband had a chance to visit Prague in 2018 and spent a few days enjoying the capital city of the Czech Republic.

Day 1 : We spent our first day exploring some of the most popular attractions in Prague –  Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and the Prague Astronomical Clock. We spent a few hours at the Prague Castle which is the official office of the President of the Czech Republic. The most visited tourist site in Prague, its humbling to see the grandeur of a structure that was built in the 9th century.

Our next stop was the Charles Bridge, which is a picturesque bridge across the Vltava river in Prague. This  medieval stone arch bridge forms the most important connection between Prague Castle and the city’s Old Town and adjacent areas. History fact: This connection made Prague important as a trade route between Eastern and Western Europe.

We then visited the Prague Astronomical Clock or Prague Orloj as it is known in Czech.  This medieval astronomical clock attached to the Old Town Hall in Prague, makes it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest clock still in operation.

Day 2: On our second day in Prague, we explored the Old Town Bridge Tower, Lennon Wall, Old Town Square & took a boat trip around the Vltava River.

The John Lennon Wall is a tribute to the famous Beatles singer and is filled with John graffiti, lyrics from Beatles’ songs, and designs relating to local and global causes in Prague. We spent time visiting the old town bridge tower and old town square. This historic square in the Old Town quarter of Prague is located between Wenceslas Square and Charles Bridge.

Day 3 : On our 3rd day, we visited the Prague Zoo. Although we experienced bad weather, we had a lot of fun  just walking in the rain and visiting the different enclosures.  We explored various routes on the metro and tram routes and shopped for some souvenirs and jewellery from Swarovski to remember Prague.

Stay: We stayed at the Park Inn hotel in Prague and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. There was a bus stop & metro station nearby and the hotel staff  were really kind enough to guide us.
