Presenting to you all a very unique delicacy of Odisha( eastern state of India) popularly called as Mango(Aam/Aamba) Khatta(Mango Chutney).I bet you must not have heard about this unique dish before.You will definitely relish it.Very easy to make and can be eaten at any part of the day .Mostly goes with rice,but can be eaten with rice.
Recipe name : Mango Chutney/Mango Khatta
Ingredients: Dry Mango,Red chilli,fennel seeds,cumin seeds,jaggery/sugar,salt,oil,mustard seeds.
Procedure:
- Put the dry mangoes into a pressure cooker filled with water and wait for 3-4 whistles.
- In a pan,put oil,after it is heated,put dried red chilli,mustard seeds,cumin seeds and fennel seeds and let it crackle.
- Then put the boiled dried mangoes and mash it in the pan and saute it for some time.
- After it is mixed well,put some jaggery or sugar(though jaggery is always preferable) and salt and give it a good mix.If you feel it is too dried,add some hot water to it accordingly and cover the lid for some 2-3 minutes.
- Our Mango chutney is ready to be served.
