Ragi(Finger Millet)

Ragi is a whole grain that is gluten-free and a staple in Eastern and Southern  India. It is rich in fiber that aids in  weight loss.

Who can have it : suitable for everyone from babies to the aged persons.

All types of dishes can be prepared from it.It ranges from sweet to sour to crispy/fried to cookies.They are Ragi Ladoos, Ragi Kheer, Ragi Halwa, Ragi Pakoda, Ragi Cookies, Ragi Dosa.

So my breakfast or snack in a day will definitely include Ragi Malt.

 Process :

  • Mix 3-4 tsp of Ragi malted flour(powdered form of Ragi) with a little bit of water, enough to make a paste.
  • Boil 1 cup of water.
  • Add the Ragi paste and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • After it cools down, add buttermilk/yogurt and one green chilli mashed and salt.Believe you me,the taste is heaven.
  • It is so simple to prepare yet highly proteinacious in nature.
