Bienvenue à Paris
Paris will forever be close to my heart because I and my husband celebrated our first anniversary there.
We visited Paris in April and stayed for 3 days there.
Day 1
We took a cab from the airport to our hotel Villa Royale Montsouris, which took us around 45 minutes. This charming hotel with artsy decor instantly transported us to a chapter out of the Arabian nights.
We rested for a bit to get rid of our jet lag and then set out to visit the Tuileries Garden. This garden which is near the Place de La concorde was a beautiful start to our trip.
We headed to the famous Louvre museum from there and had some delicious banana crepes from a vendor just in front of the museum. The crepes were worth the wait (there was a long queue!). For art lovers, I would definitely recommend a visit in order to visit masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa and the Louvre Pyramid.
We then went on a sightseeing cruise on the River Seine, where we could see the beautiful attractions from the boat.
For people like me who still want their Indian food, there are lots of amazing ones in Paris. We had our dinner in Palais de Vandan, which was a short walk from our hotel.
Day 2
We spent our 2nd day visiting Disneyland Paris, which is slightly far away from the city. We booked tickets online and enjoyed the day in the company of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and on several rids
Day 3
Our first stop was the Eiffel tower, where we had to stand in a very long queue. We spent a lot of time chatting with a fellow tourist from Germany who was visiting with her young daughter. We opted for the ‘authentic experience’ and climbed the stairs till the 2nd floor of Eiffel Tower.
The view that greeted us from the 2nd floor made braving the stairs and the cold wind worth it. The whole of Paris stood invitingly over us and would be a sight that we both remembered for ever.
We then proceed to Montmartre which is famous for its white-domed Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur. We took the funicular to reach the top which was a great experience. After taking a few photos, we came down and went to see the Moulin Rouge from outside. Reasons to Travel Paris:
Food
Paris is known as the gastronomic capital of the world for good reason. The streets are lined with quaint cafes with delectable offerings of crepes, croissants and macaroons.
Architecture
From the iconic Eiffel tower to the gothic Notre Dame, Paris mesmerizes with its architecture and landmarks. One of the highlights is visiting the Arc De Triumphe to experience the amazing lighting show.
Shopping
The streets of Champs-Élysées can satisfy even the most sophisticated shopping connoisseur. With perfumes from Versace, bags from Hermes and a cornucopia of other options for mortals like us, Paris has a host of options for shopaholics.
We bought some perfumes for Sephora and some souvenirs to remind us of this memorable trip.
Where to stay
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Villa Royale MontSouris. With great restaurants nearby, convenient commute options and several supermarkets, what more do you need?
